Like one never seen before
May shake the country to its core!

The ex-president, we must deplore
His crimes, civil and criminal, galore
He shouldn’t be allowed an encore
All legal options we must explore.

Attacks on voting rights, no uproar!
Jim Crowe 2.0 sneaking in on all four!
Banana Republic tendencies washing ashore.

By year-end, maybe, the Republic no more
More Political violence regardless of who wins is in store
Creeping fascism is cancerous for sure
Fuel on right wing fire, Supreme Court continues to pour.

Trump’s poisonous rhetoric, we shouldn’t ignore
Abhorrent rhetoric has lost its floor
The rule of law we must restore
White supremacy we must abhor!

Democracy we must restore
Equal justice must endure
Social media causing damage ever more
More domestic violence is in store.

Danger to democracy is grave, don’t ignore
Everyone must get involved, we implore
That democracy survives only we can ensure.

November 5th will be remembered here to-fore
As the day democracy died or
nearly died, barely survived
One way or another, the day will be remembered in folklore!
