Memorial Day, a day set aside
to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice
to defend our freedom and our values.
Such defense comes at a very high price.

They were young, brave and innocent.
They heroically wore the badge of honor,
faced the barrage of artillery, fearlessly.
Knew, still not deterred by wars’ horror

On this Memorial Day, let’s take a vow
to not let their sacrifice be forgotten.
We owe these brave souls a huge debt.
All the honor and respect is not ill gotten.

Let’s bow our heads in respect.
