Elusive Search – a puzzle masquerading as a poem (My poem #14)

Searching for an elusive thing
No, not Loch Ness monster
Even more elusive, like a mirage
Rarer than an honest politician
Like truth from Trump’s mouth

Leaving no stone unturned
Taking a hard look
Searching far and wide
Every cove, corner, and nook

No success thus far
Will I ever find it?
No one finds mermaids,
ghosts or goblins!

Almost given up hope
Then in my sleep I found it
Thanks to an archangel
It is not a figment of my imagination

Far from making me happy
Knowing about it depressed me
It does exist, but sadly
I can’t get it
Isn’t that what life is all about?
I wonder, and
I ponder

You ask what is it?
Let me tell you if you insist
It is:

A cushy job that pays you
for just showing up
What you say, or do,
don’t say or don’t do
is irrelevant
You get paid regardless!
You can’t be fired, ever
You don’t have to retire
Isn’t it like dying and going to heaven?

You ask again, so what is it?
Scroll down to find the answer.
Keep scrolling
You are almost there
A little more scrolling

The job of three lady justices of the Supreme Court of US, appointed by Democratic Presidents viz. Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
